Holly Mount Orchard
We've just had a couple of very busy sessions up at Holly Mount Orchard, last month we were pruning and wassailing and this month we've been learning the art of grafting (keep an eye on our Flickr account for new photos) both sessions were kindly provided by THE BiG DIG...
We'd like to say a BIG thank you to Kirstin for organising these sessions and to Hilary Dobson from The Northern Fruit Group for instructing us all so brilliantly!
If you're interested in finding out more about pruning we noticed Permaculture Magazine has recently posted a good video guide.
As mentioned at the beginning of this newsletter, we've got lots planned for the year ahead so we're busy trying to add all our events into our online calendar, apologies if this is a bit techie but we thought you might be interested to know that you can do a number of things to keep yourself up to date, firstly if you see an event that really takes your fancy then click the 'Copy to my calendar' link, if you have a Google account this will allow you to not only copy the event but set up a reminder by way of an email, sms, or popup (or all of them if you really struggle with remembering things).
If you'd like to see all of our events in an agenda (list) format then you can do by visiting Googles own version of our calendar, just hit the 3rd tab (top right) and scroll downwards to see further into the year.
Finally the easiest way to ensure our Incredible Edible events and activities are in your own calendar is to subscribe or import our calendar into yours - You can do that by adding this rather long and ugly address: https://www.google.com/calendar/ical/bre1a7dlo32i073pc2klbsls2c%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics
and last but not least some (instructions for Microsoft Outlook/Windows users)
No one can say we haven't tried to keep you upto date with what's going on so hopefully we'll see you at an event soon!
Happy Growing and Eating
